Whew! Finished an illustration for Stories For Children Magazine’s Holiday issue. This is to accompany a story titled Johnny’s Snowman. Thanks for stopping by!
Oh my gosh! I cannot reconcile this scene because we are still suffering from the worst drought we have in Texas since I moved here. Lake Travis is down 53 feet and now I am shivering because of this winter drawing!!! OH MY GOODNESS!!! It is Christmas soon!!! This is a great illustration Jack. It made me feel cold!
HA! I missed the dog licking the snowman! I'm glad Kayleen mentioned it! Did it stick?? This is so cute-- I love that purpley-blue sky. I'm glad you are so busy!!
Ha ha! Love it. Great work as usual. The dog is hilarious; and are those jelly-bean eyes? My favorite. Loving the colors in all the clothing, nice wintery feel. Congrats on another great piece in the can. I hope you are feeling better.
Nooo, don't eat the snowman!!! Aw, Jack, what a great illustration! Wonderful snowfall, and the faint sunset in the sky is a great touch. Nice way to break up the blue. Even though I know it's cold, it's a very heartwarming scene. And for the record, Ces is a very very cold woman indeed. ;)
It's wonderful Jack. I lovvvvvvvvvvve the dog licking the snowman. You always add the best details, and you are so busy! Go Jack!!! I'm so happy for you.
Greetings Jack :) Well seasons greetings, I drove past the supermarket today and saw a giant tree over their awning and thought, 'gee, how slack is that, they still have their 'stuff' up from last year"......
Yes 'stuff" and words that appear to be a preposition (like 'up" but are in fact part of the verb, are frowned upon here in Oz :) - when used together.
Back to your work. The dog is the touch on the cake, the icing on the crumpet and makes me feel all smiley. All the kids make me all smiley (I wonder if my hormones are playing up? My friends call me Scrooge the Second, I ring them up at this time of year and abuse them so they aren't talking to me, and I don't have to buy them Christmas Presents)
Such amazing work, Jack! Congratulations on the illustration..your characters are awesome! I'm also scrolling through your multitude of amazing images and BOOKS! Super duper congratulations on all of them and I'm so delayed at wishing you well from the bronchitis..I hope you are 100% now! Take good care and always so good to check in and get my Jacktoon fix! : )
J'aime son grand sourire... d'émeraude!

But seriously, it's beautifully balanced and should bring joy to all the kids (and adults) who have the fortune to see it!
