  1. I have six siblings, and when we were little, we spent a lot of time on the road. Of course, we all needed to "go" at different times. Poor Dad. :p

I thought she was saying "are we there yet?" after the 1st mile.

Potty stops, my father wouldn't - discipline girl!

  4. Oh I can relate to this one. Last year we had many potty stops for our little girl during our Outback camping adventure. You've captured their expressions perfectly (you're obviously an experienced parent).

  7. Lol. Maybe that is why my dad liked to drive at night on the family vacations. We were sleeping, so he didn't have to make all kinds of stops.

  8. I remember these trips. As a child we would keep waiting and waiting and waiting. Your illustration is wonderful as always and captures that memory perfectly and with great humor.

  12. hahaha, my husband hates to stop, it used to drive him crazy when the kids would have to stop and twenty minutes later the youngest one would say "I didn't have to go earlier, but I do now!"

  13. Very amusing Jack - I remember that too, along with "I don't feel well, think I'm going to be sick..." oops, too late, all over the long suffering dog!

  18. Heh, you know I looked at this morning and then toddled off without reading the caption, and I was goin to say that I always make sure I have had a nature stop before I read your stuff, in case I have an unhappy 'accident' while I 'm laughing...

Huh Jack, this is a crackup, and the caption is mererely the icing on the cack -- err I mean 'cake'

It's even funnier because we can all identify with different parts of the image. Jack, you are pretty good ya' know :)

  28. Hey Jack!
Thanks for the comment. I live near Minneapolis, and we are about to get hit with a snow storm of 6 inches of snow! It is a major bummer, but this has to be the last of it...right?

  29. Wow! This is great!

I so remember those potty stops as a kid, while my Dad stood guard. With my daughter, we carried her potty with us! Lol! I remember her patiently reading her favorite book sitting on her potty, as the traffic whizzed by, at 2 yrs. old! LOL! At 16 now, she would die if she knew I'd told that story!

What a great illustration and thanks for that precious reminder!
