Does anyone remember the Crunch Berry Beast from Captain Crunch? Is he still around? I just remember those little crunchy red balls when I was a kid. I heard some lady tried to sue Captain Crunch because, for four years she thought she was eating real berries!------------- So this is my version of Mr. Crunch Berry himself!

There really was a band in the 50's or 60's called The Penguins. I think they did a song called earth angel? Anyway I wasn't thinking of the band when I came up with this. :O)

Evergreen Elementary School Visit

I visited Evergreen Elementary School in Carol Stream Illinois yesterday. They gathered all 400 students for an assembly > I read them the story "Poodle and Doodle", one of the stories that I had illustrated. Then I talked with them about being an illustrator. I had a blast! The kids were great. What a wonderful blessing and joy!

Been busy with a couple of books but I thought I'd take a break and join you guys. It's been a while... it's nice to be back. The first thing I think of when I think of blur, are the wings of hummingbirds.

" I feel like I just found me pot 'o gold!"

Thank you Cheryl and Shirley so much! I am humbled by you presenting me with this wonderful award. Bella has been truly missed during the past weeks. My heart was saddened when I heard about the passing of her husband. She is in my prayers.

Both of you have been such an encouragement to me. I feel like we are family. God bless you both.

and now I pass this award off to some of the artists that have inspired me:

Shaky if

I was tossing a few "shaky" ideas around in my head, when last night on the news, Sears Tower (here in Chicago) opened their newest tourist attraction. They call it The Ledge. It is a 4 foot, all glass balcony that is 103 floors up, which is 1,353 feet. It opened on July 2. They were showing some kids that were the first to venture out onto the balcony. One of the boys said, "My legs were shaking!" I trashed my original "shaky" ideas and went with The Ledge.
