There is a story in the Bible about when Jesus walked on water. Peter asked Him if he could come out to him and Jesus said "come." Peter actually stood on the water for a brief moment, but then he took his focus off of Jesus and focused on the winds and waves and began to sink.
Let us Keep our eyes "focused" on Jesus , the author and perfecter of our faith. Hebrews12:2
Wonderful! I LOVE how Jesus' eyes are focused on the viewer!! I also love how Peter is really clinging to the boat-- sometimes we need to let go, don't we? Excellent work!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE your blog. Your pictures are fabulous. And I love how you bring in the Bible stories with them. I can't wait to show my boys the pictures.
ReplyDeleteOkay, now lets celebrate that wonderful word with an offering! This is such a wonderful illustration and I will think of it when we have our bible class with the children. This is just wonderful! I really love it! Reminds me of the scripture, " I will keep you in prefect peace if you keep your mind stayed on me" I love this. Great post.
ReplyDeleteohhh this is really nice, jack! love the feel of the waves in peter's garment.
ReplyDeleteWow! I needed that verse today. Thank you Jack and thank you for your nice comment on my post. I checked out both of your blogs and it looks like you are quite the encourager to a lot of other artists.
ReplyDeletePeter holding onto the boat really caught my eye, since I catch myself doing that often when I am trying to be brave and go for my dreams. This is a great word picture for me. Thanks
Thank you for stopping by and leaving your kind words in praying for my dear sister. Prayer is vitally important in my life and I appreciate your thoughts in doing so for my family as well.

Hi Jack! Thanks for visiting my blog. I will have to go over to Amazon and buy p Poodle and Doodle for my grandson. It looks adorable. Your illustrations are wonderful. Do you use the computer e.g. illustrator or is it all by hand? I have a Christian children's book called Run for the Prize. I illustrated it but it was several years ago and I could have done a bit better now! But that's what God wanted it to look like!
ReplyDeleteCame for a visit from Joane's blog.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for stopping by...don't know how you found me but glad you did.
ReplyDeleteI have loved working with kids for a long time now...and visual is so important when teaching them God's word.
Because it is so important to me to see that they understand God's word on their own level...I wrote the book you saw. I have another book waiting in the wings should God decide that He wants this work out their for His children.
I love the work that you have done here...may God continue to bless you as you use your gift for His glory. Love the idea that Peter held on to the boat as he put his feet over the side...how like Peter I am. :)
Awesomeness!!!
