I've always wanted to try to do an illustration of Paul Bunyan and his blue ox, Babe. This week's Illustration Friday topic gave me the opportunity. I always associate him with the wilderness.
Fantastic, Jack! That's one wonderful Paul and Babe illustration. He has a nice sweetness to his face - yet he looks strong yet tender. I enjoy your characters' positions, too...they're not just static, they've got heft and weight to 'em. Very nice! Have a great rest o' the weekend!
there is nothing cooler to me than what you said: to have an excuse to create an image you always wanted to make :) i smiled at your comment because i have no doubt in my mind what your little houses will look like jack, u certainly don't need any help from me ;D
This has always been my favorite of the tall tales! You captured Paul Bunyon and Babe perfectly, Jack! Both are just full of character and personality!
